Intel Corporation (INTC) has been around as a public company much longer than I realized.   Since 1976, Intel Corporation has had 11 stock splits with six of them coming before 1987.  As a result, Intel has produced some excellent long term returns.  A $5,000 investment in Intel at the beginning of 1975 would have resulting in a holding of more than 3.4 million dollars at the end of 2011.  However, a $5,000 investment at the beginning of 2000 would only be worth a little less than $3,400 at the end of 2011.
