Amgen, Inc. (AMGN) has had an amazing 20 years of stock performance.  Amgen still does not pay a dividend, but as you can see from the chart above, the stock still has achieved incredible results.  A $5,000 investment in (AMGN) at the start of 1985 would have grown into nearly 2.9 million dollars worth of stock by the end of 2009.  Unfortunately, most of Amgen's growth was a result of its growth in the 90's.  As a result, investments in Amgen after the turn of the century have produced very flat or negative results so far.
