Amgen, Inc. (AMGN) has had an amazing 20 years of stock performance. Amgen still does not pay dividends, but as you can see from the chart above, the stock still has achieved incredible results. A $5,000 investment in (AMGN) at the start of 1986 would have grown to nearly a 1.3 million dollar holding at the end of 2006. Even an investment a little over 10 years ago in Amgen has produced a gain over 400%. In recent years, the growth of Amgen's stock has stalled. We will have to see if the slower growth is just a short term lull or a sign of things to come.
