Dell, Inc. (DELL) has produced an incredible return over the past 15 to 20 years. Even more incredible when you consider Michael Dell started this business by selling computers out of his dorm room while attending college. Between October 1995 and March 1999, Dell's stock split an unheard of 6 times (an average of more than once a year over this span). As a result a $5,000 investment in DELL the day of its initial public offering on June 22, 1988 would have resulted in nearly 50,000 shares and over 1.2 million dollars at the end of 2006.
