Disclaimer/Contact Us
Home Depot, Inc. (HD) has had an incredible 25 + years of existence. If you would have purchased $5,000 worth of Home Depot the day of its initial public offering (IPO) on September 23, 1981 you would accumulated well over 6 million dollars at the end of 2006 through dividends, stock splits, and price appreciation. In fact, since Home Depot's IPO it has had 13 stock splits. However, most of those stock splits came during Home Depot's (HD) early years. The last stock split was at the end of 1999. Finally, the stock has pretty much moved sideways or slightly down for the last 5 or 6 years. It remains to be seen whether the company can resume its successful stock returns.
