Caterpillar (CAT) has been a steady stock performer over the past 20 years.  While it has not posted incredible returns it has been very consistent.   Caterpillar stock has also held up relatively well during the latest stock market crash.  Caterpillar is another example of how a so called boring stock can steadily grow and post nice returns.
